The air was silent. No one said a word. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Jake didn't know what to say. Just an hour ago, he was the happiest fox in the world. But now, he finds himself face to face with another fox who's hell-bent on destroying him. But for what reason, Jake did not know. "Shadz? what's going on, big bro?" Tutis asked, finally breaking the silence which seemed to last an eternity. Shadz... For some reason, that name stuck out in Jake's mind. The black fox looked so familiar to him, like he had seen him before. But he couldn't quite put his finger on it. "Tutis, stay out of this. This is between me and that...thing!" Shadz growled angrily. Tutis had never seen his older brother this angry before.

"I guess I underestimated you last time. But I assure you, it won't happen again." Jake was so confused by the events transpiring and the accusations being made. He had to convince Shadz that he wasn't the same person the black fox was talking about. "Listen, dude. First off, my name isn't "thing", it's Jake. Second, I have no idea what you are talking about. I've never even seen you before today!" The energy ball in Shadz' palm that was directed at Jake began to increase in size and the black fox's anger rose. "Don't play stupid with me! Do you think I forgot what happened between us six months ago!?"

"Look, I hate to burst your bubble dude, but I was in a surfing accident a while back. You can ask anyone on this island." Jake said, thinking that maybe that would convince the black fox to back down, but it didn't work as Shadz laughed at the surfer fox. "Do you honestly expect me to believe a weak lie like that? I could never forget your face!" At this point, Jake turned to Tutis, who looked as worried as he was about everything that was happening. "Tutis, please help me out here, bud." Jake pleaded, hoping that the little red fox would be able to talk Shadz out of it. "I'm sorry, Jake...but you did say you have amnesia. And Shadz seems pretty sure about this." Tutis said as he looked down at the ground and kicked the sand a little.

Tutis wanted to help Jake, but his brother had told him about what happened six months ago. In fact, it was well known throughout Mobius what had happened between Shadz and this creature. Even though Tutis dind't see it in Jake, the kit never doubted his brother's judgment.
"You've GOT to be kidding me! I just saved your life, dude!" Jake half-shouted, becoming desperate to get out of this situation. "Don't listen to him, Tutis. It's nothing but a trick, just a facade to hide his true nature. Well, I'm going to destroy you once and for all!" With that said, Shadz released the massive amount of energy from his palm, the intensity of the blast shook the ground on which they stood. Jake closed his eyes and braced himself, waiting for the end to come. After the energy dispersed, burnt trees and charred earth were all that remained. Jake was no where to be found.

"Well, he's dead. I hope your happy, bro." Tutis huffed, a mixture of anger and sadness in his voice. Shadz ignored what the kit had said and continue to stare at the remains of the blast. 'Why didn't he fight back?' He thought to himself. That was the same fox he had fought six months ago, no doubt about it. But there was something diffrent about him now. "He's not dead..." The black fox whispered. "What do you mean he isn't dead?" Tutis asked, surprised. "Don't worry about it. Let's go." Shadz said as he started walking away from the spot where he had met the thing that almost killed him some time ago. "Shadz wait! What do you mean he isn't dead?" The young fox asked as he ran after his older brother.

Jake slowly opened his eyes, and was somewhat confused to see that that nothing had happened to him. He realized that he was on a completely different part of the island. The sound of Shadz' psychic blast was replaced by the calming sounds of tropical birds and waves gently crashing on the shore. Jaked looked down at his hands, thinking to himself. 'Did I just teleport?' Jake sat down on the sand and replayed what had just happened in his head. 'If I can teleport, then maybe Shadz knows more about me than I do. But I don't understand why he would want to destroy me. Maybe mom knows something about what's going on.'

Jake stood up and started to walk home, but then he stopped. "If I teleported once...maybe I can do it again." The blue fox closed his eyes and started to concentrate on his house. Seconds later, he felt a sudden pull. Jake opened his eyes and to his surprise, his house was right in front of him. "I don't believe this!" Jake said as he ran inside of his house. "Mom? Are you home?" Jake called out, looking around his house. He soon heard his mother's voice. "I'm on the back porch, dear." Alison replied. Jake ran outside to see his mom laying in a hammock, reading a book. Alison looked up at Jake and she could easily tell that something was bothering her son.

"Jake? Honey, what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost." Alison said worriedly as she sat her book down. "Mom...how did I get amnesia?" Jake asked, desperate to get an answer. "Jake, I already told you. You hit your head on a rock while you were surfing." Jake shook his head at the response like he didn't believe it. Not anymore, anyway. "Mom, please tell me the truth." Jake asked again. "Why would you think I'm lying?" Alison asked, a little hesitant. "I met a fox today who almost killed me. He said he thought he had destroyed me. And then he attacked me, but somehow, I teleported." After he finished explaining what had happened, Jake hung his head. He just wanted to know who, or what he was. "I knew this day would come...follow me, honey." Alison said as she stood up and walked inside. The sky blue fox did what he was told and followed his mom into her room.

Alison walked over to her dresser and looked in the top drawer. She pulled out a metal necklace. It had small writing on it and a light in the center, but the light had faded a long time ago. The necklace looked as though it had been through hell and back. "Jake..that was a day I will never forget. It was a normal day, just like any other. Then suddenly, there was a loud boom that shook the entire village. We all ran over to see what had caused it." Alison stopped talking for a moment. she had her eyes closed as she gripped the metal necklace tightly in her hand. "What was it?" Jake asked, eager for her to continue her story. "Mom...what was it?" The blue fox asked again. Alison turned to Jake and handed him the necklace she had been hiding in her hand. She looked up at her son with tears in her eyes and said, "...it was you, Jake."
